A broken personal laptop is annoying. A broken work laptop is a person who can’t do their job — which is why business repairs run to a different clock. EliteBooks and ProBooks are a growing share of our Perth bench work, and businesses care about a different set of questions than consumers do.
The questions that actually matter for business machines
How fast? Diagnosis begins within 2–3 hours of the machine reaching us, and common EliteBook/ProBook faults — screens, keyboards, batteries, SSDs — are same-day to 24-hour jobs when parts are on hand. We’ll tell you the realistic timeline up front so you can plan around it, not hope around it.
What about BitLocker? Most corporate HPs are BitLocker-encrypted, and some repairs (board work, firmware changes) can trip recovery mode. Have your recovery key accessible — from your IT admin or your organisation’s Microsoft account — before the repair starts. We flag this at booking so nobody’s locked out on pickup day.
What about the data? Business machines carry business data. Our default posture is data-preserving: drives are never wiped or reimaged without explicit instruction, and if a drive is failing we clone before we touch anything else. If your IT policy requires the drive never leaves your possession, tell us — we can work around that too.
Will accounts want paperwork? You’ll get proper itemised invoicing per machine, suitable for asset registers and warranty tracking.
Common EliteBook/ProBook faults we see
The business lines are built better than consumer machines, but they work harder: hinge and screen damage from daily commuting, keyboards worn flat by full-time typing, batteries cycled to death by dock-heavy use, and SSDs reaching end-of-life in fleets bought together (they tend to fail together, too — if one machine’s drive has gone, its batch-mates are worth checking).
Fleets: batch it
If you’re running five or fifty HPs, ad-hoc repairs are the expensive way to do it. Batch the known issues — a round of batteries, a round of SSD refreshes — and the per-machine cost and downtime both drop. We can stagger a fleet so you’re never more than one or two machines down at a time.
One machine or a fleet, it starts the same way: the quote form or a call to 08 9325 1196, and a written quote before any work begins.
